A Professional driver will drive defensively, in other words have excellent forward planning, observational and control skills. If you have anticipated the actions of other road users then you are better prepared, less likely to be taken by surprise and as a result will have a calmer, more enjoyable and safer drive.
Before we begin we will start with an eye sight test, you’ll have to be able to read a number plate from a distance of 20m for a new-style number plate or 20.5m for vehicles with an old style number plate.
I offer training sessions to help you prepare for your Diamond Taxi test. After assessing your driving I can help you to develop your defensive driving skills, these techniques will not only improve your driving, but will of course leave you well prepared for your test.
The standard taxi test is a 45 minute test which includes a variety of roads and where possible motorways. You will be asked to do two manoeuvres and an element of independent driving. To pass this test, you must make no serious or dangerous faults and no more than 9 driver faults.
