Elite Training

Training Overview

During your elite training sessions I will work with you to improve and build on your driving skills and knowledge, help you to develop observational skills which will enable you to anticipate hazards in good time.  All of which will equip you for long term safe driving and boost driving confidence.

I am a member of the Driving Instructors Association and the Institute of Advanced Motorists and as such am kept up to date with changes within the industry.  I have a commitment to continuous professional development.

Before your training can begin:

Before we begin we will start with an eye sight test, you’ll have to be able to read a number plate from a distance of 26.5m for a new-style number plate or 27.5m for vehicles with an old style number plate.

  • Please remember to bring glasses/contact lenses if you require them for driving.
  • Please remember to bring your driving licence and national insurance number so that we can check your licence details online.

About the Training and Test

The Diamond Elite test is ideal for anyone wishing to take their driving to the next level and beyond the Diamond advanced test. You may have a keen interest in driving, be a member of a car club or drive extensively for work, whatever your reason this test will make you a safer and more knowledgeable driver.

The Diamond elite test lasts for 90 minutes and covers a variety of roads and where possible motorways, rural areas and an emergency stop exercise. You will be expected to do at least 2 manoeuvres involving reversing, demonstrate eco-safe driving and a commentary drive for approximately 15-20 minutes.

A pass will be awarded if you achieve no serious or dangerous faults and you do not exceed 2 driver faults in the same category.

The Diamond elite test is ideal for ADIs wishing to enhance their career. The elite test forms part of the DIA’s accredited fleet course and will give you the knowledge and experience to take your driving to the highest level. Being able to demonstrate a professional level of driving including commentary driving to potential clients and CEOs is an important element of fleet training.
